Frozen water line repair service
Your water lines are most likely to freeze during
a cold snap or deep freeze, especially with high
winds. The first sign you will have that your
pipes may be frozen is when you turn on the
tap and you have not water!
If you encounter this the first thing you should
do is TURN OFF the water via a shut off valve
or in the case of a pump, electricity to the
pump.
Water that freezes in a pipe expands with a
pressure of over 2,000 lbs per square inch! If
they pipe bursts, while under pressure it will
continue to leak until the pressure is turned off!
The average water system today produces
several hunder gallons of water per hour,
meaning that in as little as 15 minutes you
could have 600 to 700 gallons of water entering
your home, causing considerable damage.
Water pipes located against an outside wall,
under a sink located on an outside wall or in an
unheated crawl space are the most susceptible
to freezing.
